Gilcrease Museum acknowledges and understands that some items under its care are of a highly sensitive or sacred nature and that these items have cultural protocols and restrictions that should be respected and followed. Gilcrease is committed to honoring the originating communities’ protocols and has therefore removed some items from public access on the Collections Online site. As Gilcrease continues tribal consultations and collection reviews for the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), more item records will be added to Collections Online. Gilcrease seeks and welcomes consultation on any items that may fall under NAGPRA.
