Scope and Content Notes

Biography reads: "Born 1819, Interpreter to the Dellawares [sic] formerly interpreter to the Shawnees and Kickapoo, was educated at the Shawnee Methodist Mission, and recommended to the U. S. Government as interpreter in 1837 by the Rev. Thomas Johnson, a great advocate of Education and Religion among the Indians, One of the Delegation of Delaware in January 1859." Folder 255A
