Cotton football for games / Janis Tiger Berryhill
Essay/Description
A wheel shaped disk of brown commercial suede leather (from an old piece of clothing). Two rectangular panels are stitched end to end forming a circle. To this, two round pieces are sewn, forming the two sides. In addition to being thrown and carried, this design allows the ball to be rolled on its flat circumference. The stitching is done with waxed thread using the same stitched used on commercial baseballs. Cloth or leather is used as the stuffing.
Curatorial Remarks
This may be a women's game ball.
