Finger woven, beaded dance accoutrement / Unknown
Essay/Description
Beaded and woven accutrements
Curatorial Remarks
Acts as a garter without the garter belt. It's less work to create only the drop than the complete garter belt. These were created starting in the 1950s and 1960s. This is an example of people economizing their dance clothing. By the 1950s, an entire straight dance outfit would have cost $2,000 or more. By the 1950s, most families didn't have members who could create all parts of an outfit.
