Pasadena, California. June 18, 1931. Mrs. T. G. Portis, Hotel Monterey, Kingshighway and Washington Blvd., St. Louis, Missouri. Dear Susanne: Your letter of May 22nd, has not been answered as usual and this is just a little squib to tell you that we are rolling northward on the twentieth and will be at Lake MacDonald (Belton, Montana, Postoffice) for the summer. I hope while there to contact a number of high officials who will be of great benefit to the cause in changing the minds of some of that Commission about the chosen model of Charlie. Senator Walsh is very much on my side and I feel, through his powerful influence, something definite will be accomplished. Isn’t it a shame to have to struggle over a thing like this when it is intended to be such a great honor to Charlie. My bestest love, Sincerely,
