I’m so glad your work at school is taking and it’s a cinch bet you will get a lot out of it that will shorten up the trail that you are trying to follow into a successful field of art. I was sure you would find Borein an interested, good old scout. Charlie always liked him so much. It’s fine to hear you and Joe are enjoying each other. Now, about the Rogers model, you will remember I have a figure of an Indian on a horse walking along. The horse is not quite as big as Will Rogers’ horse but he is exactly the same type and when you come down, you can copy on a little larger scale the hips and hind legs of that other horse and put him on to Will Rogers, possibly raising one foot a little more or something like that. The gentle action, indicated in the Indian’s horse, is the same as that was in the Rogers’ horse, so I’ll wait until you come down or until I’m in Santa Barbara again and I can explain more fully what I mean. The more I look at “The Cryer”, the better I like it. The job of restoring on that model was good and I’m enclosing my check for $50.00, which does not pay for what you did but just indicates my appreciation of your kindness and I hope you find it will be useful. It was nice of you to tell your Pittsburgh friends about my studio and I hope they come out, although this is a hard place for strangers to find. Your friend from Detroit has not shown up yet but I still think it is possible that he will. My very best wishes for your success in the work you are doing.
