[handwritten page 1] Feb 13 – 08 My dear Mrs Russell – Your letter of February 8th received – I have heard my brined Bob heavens of Billings speak of your husband so often that I feel as if I am not exactly a stranger to you all – I have ridden the range a deal with Bob and he and I both think that Charley Russell’s drawings of cowboy life are in a class(next) [page 2] all by themselves – I would like to get a few of Mr. Russell’s originals _ as regards subject why I like the one of “Cowboy’s roping a situatin[sic]”-“A Bad Hoss” “The Trial Boss” stringing out on the circle_ the strenuous life. In fact I would like any picture of puncher’s in action_ I don’t suppose any of the above could be bought but anything similar to these is what I want_ In regard size dont[sic] want too big a picture something about medium – How about oil’s does Mr Russell do anything in colors I would like a painting best[next] [page 3] Kindly let me know how you can fix me out – and about with it will cost – If you ever hit the East again I would be please to meet you and your husband – Thanking you I am sincerely yours Malcolm S.
