October 17, 1927 PGC: EG Mrs. Charles M. Russell, 1219 Fourth Avenue No. Great Falls, Mont. Dear Nancy; On my way home last night carrying a copy of the bronze of "Will Rogers” I bumped into Mrs. Fred Stone and showed it to her. She as delighted with it; said she would like to get one for Fred for Christmas. I am giving her you California address and she has promised to write you . If you do not hear from her I think it might be a nice thing for you to drop either her or Fred Stone a line . Fred is on tour with his show I believe somewhere in the West. Incidentally just as a thought, why don't you in some way manage to get one of these into the hands of the Prince of Wales? You know how much he thinks of Will Rogers as well as of Charley' s things. There might be a chance for some excellent publicity here. I hear many regrets that you are not to have the show here this year. I do hope that you re not going to let Charley's publicity fade out here ·n the East. With best regards, As always, [signed] Philip [handwritten] I have never seen the bronze entitled “The Indian Family”. It sounds as if it would be something I might want. I would like to see a copy of it. Please ^also send me a list of all the paintings (with prices) you have
