November 7th, 1919 Mr. Geo F. Baker, Jr., First National Bank, New York, N.Y. Dear Sir: A few weeks ago, while in Great Falls, you visited Mr. Russell’s studio and was interested in t he pictures, especially an oil of some Indians watching a camp fire which is called “Where Fools Build Fires". Mr. Russell could not tell you the price of t hat canvas at the time and he left for a hunt the next day. Just by chance yesterday,Mr. Hobbins, who came with you to the studio, told me of your interest and desire to know more about this special painting . We are starting with an exhibition at the Minneapolis Art Institute in December and I thought if you were interested in this pic- ture we would like you to have the opportunity to buy before it goes into the show. The price of this painting is $3500. Thank you for your interest and we hope whenever you visit Great Falls, you will feel that we will welcome you t o the studio to see what we have. Very truly yours,
