October 11 1926 Dear Judge: Charlie has talked of writing you a real letter of thanks for the wonderful Dutch ovens you sent us to use at our barbecue[sic] pit, also the spit which I think will work beautifully. Those were the best Dutch ovens I ever saw and next year, if we have another bad fire, we sure will cook food out doors at our camp. You are chosen to be the chief planner. I am enclosing a photo of the pit and it really works like a charm. When you come west for your limit this fall, it would make us very happy indeed if you could stop and see us. I am not sure Charlie can go—he doesn’t seem to get his strength back as fast as he should—but maybe he will go and anyway he sure would love to have you for a visit. There are not so many folks in the world that Charlie loves and needs to be with. You are one so try to stop and see him. Thank you for the wonderful equipment for our playhouse. Charlie joins in love to you all.
