Dear Doctor Cole: It was too bad that we missed you and Mrs. Cole while we were in New York this winter but I know just how busy everybody was during the Christ- mas rush and we were there just eighteen days, which, after all, is a very short time. I would like to have had you see the new water colors we had because they were beautiful but we had nothing any better or, in fact, as good as the Last Chance Gulch picture that belongs to you.
