Jan. 15, 1916. Mr. C. Barnes, 1522 First Natiojal[sic] Bank Bldg. Chicago. My dear Mr. Barnes: Yes, a cry from Montana. Maybe you’d say a Call from the Wild, any- how I need help in Chicago. We will be there the first of Feb. and have an exhibition of paintings and bronze at Thurber’s Gallery that month. I don’t know any newspaper people that are strong enough to get the proper notices and we Darsent[sic] buy advertising. That’s a bad move for an artist, just like a doctor you know. So I thought maybe you’d know just the person to start Chas. off right in your city. We need a first class press agent. Could you recommend[sic] one? If so have him write to me. Time is might short. I was counting on someone I knew, and they have gone to Quebec for the winter. I am just taking it for granted you won’t mind doing this for us, if you know the right fellow. We will be at the Blackstone in Feb. and hope to see you then. Chas. joins in kindest regards. Sincerely,
