Stephen Mopope, August 27, 1898–February 2, 1974 (Artist)
Culture:
Native American; Kiowa
Materials/Techniques:
tempera on paper
Paper/Support:
Portrait; one sided
still adhered to the secondary support
Both support are machine-made. The primary support is a seafoam green/teal color with a smooth surface. It is adhered to the secondary support at the four corners. The painting is located on the wire side: patterned texture. The secondary support was originally similar teal color, but appears a light green/blue from light damage (exposed border discolored). The original color is visible on the verso. Both support are similar in weight and texture.
