Curatorial Remarks

Etching and drypoint with plate tone. There is a sketch on the verso without the centrally placed cows and figure depicted on the recto, which suggests the artist considered removing those figures and this would seem to be the case. Most of the impressions in the Gilcrease collection - a, b, c, d, e, h, i - do not include the centrally place cows and figure, only g and f.
