Scope and Content Notes

Affidavit given by Snake Girty, a solicitor, stated that Allen Girty stole one cow, one yearling, and two heifers from R. J. Foreman. Each cow was worth $40.00 each. The head of cattle were stolen from the Canadian District on or about the 22nd or 23rd of April 1872. The statement was signed ᎢᎾᏓᏂᏴᎦ and given before J. L. McCorkle. 4026.1938.1 is a warrant by J. L. McCorkle for the arrest of Allen Gilbert to answer for the charge of stealing four head of cattle. On verso, "Served the 27th of April 1872 by John Q. Hays, Sheriff C.D.C.N". Folder 371
