Letter from William Y. Hansell, attorney, to Chief John Ross. Reporting that Judge Underwood has received letter from Secretary of War in which he stated he was instructed by the President to say "That the present is the last proposition the Cherokees will receive while he remains in office." Also urging his attendance at July council and conference with Colonel Rockwell and Hansell. Folded sheet of paper with handwritten text on four sides. Folder 145
