Letter was written in pencil on Sunday December 2, 1877. John Drew told his sister that Tom Griffin from the male seminary came that evening and told him that Sugg was very sick with pneumonia. John Vann had sent for John Drew and was going up that night. John Drew asked his sister if it were possible for her to go up and see Sugg because he probably would not recover.
