Army Commdg [sic] Sir, The Estimate for the subsistence of persons and animals (on the road was only for eighty days) heretofore made way for the time only which it was supposed each party would be traveling to the country west …y[sic] 80 days, consequently the unavoidable detention by the frought and other causes at the point of starting, as you are aware have necessarily has not been have necessarily produced an ad an additional expense which I have not been provided as yet furnished with m…[sic] funds to meet.
