Stamped, "The Cherokee Indian Memorial: This stands 2 miles east of the Sequoyah Statue, and about 400 yards of the site of the Cherokee Council House. It is located four miles northeast of Calhoun, Ga. near the junction of the Coosawattee and Conasauga Rivers, which form the Oostanaula. This was designed and built by W.L. Hillhouse, Calhoun, Ga. but was paid for special appropriation by Congress. Dedicated, Sept. 1931. - Robert Sparks Walker" on verso.
