Interpretation

Description:

Bowl -- Medium sized flat bowl of dark ware, rising sun designs.

Curatorial Remarks:

Belcher Engraved (Suhm and Jelks 1962: 9) carinated bowl with concentric engraved arches with notchings below them. Cross-hatched background. Fire clouding covered the vessel surface. Direct rim, rounded lip and rounded circular base. 10YR2/1 Black, 7.5YR5/3 Brown.
