Sterling silver earrings / Raye Johnson

Essay/Description

Matched and symmetrical earrings of Sterling silver. Domed and fluted (by stamping) round silver circle (with earpost on back) with hole for loop of tipi pendant. Tipi pole forms loop to attch to pin. 7 poles from tipi top, view of door side with ground stakes / vertical seam stakes, doorway and smoke flaps in stamped detail. Water bird is cut and stamped in German silver style with tail as separate pendant. Stamping forms small Christian cross on bird's body. Body slightly domed, wings domed and tips cupped, tail domed along length. Bird's "beak" is loop attaching to doorway area of tipi. Tipi also domed with tipi form. On back of both tipis and one water bird body is stamped "Sterling" (commercial stamp) and the maker's hallmark "RJ".
