Silver wire cuff bracelet with punched/filed designs / Native American; Navajo (Diné)

Essay/Description

The outer frame of the cuff appear to be made of heavy gauge wire triangular in cross-section. The back of the wire indicates this may have been cast to look like wire rather than being actual drawn wire. Into the wire frame is soldered a braided wire section made of three heavy gauge wires round in cross-section. The deep central parallel line design may have been created by filing. The shallower flanking zig-zag lines were probably punched.
