Sterling silver tea cup with floral designs / S. Kirk and Son

Essay/Description

Owned by Harding Big Bow (Kiowa). A commercial sterling silver cup used during Native American Church services. Raised floral design around the entire radius. A single tea-cup style handle on one side. The handle is decorated in an abstract leaf/feather motif. "S. Kirk and Son" "Sterling" "132F" "hand decorated" all embossed on the bottom.

Curatorial Remarks

Possibly use for serving peyote tea. Commercial manufacture used by Native Americans.
