German silver and brass roach spreader with eagle design / Bruce Caesar

Essay/Description

Man's roach spreader of German silver and brass. The base is German silver with 3 brass eagles cut out and sweat-soldered to base, feather socket of brass, feather spike may be steel nail or coat hanger held in socket by false base. A possible sun design element on bases, center circle and rays are cut out, same design repeated twice on feather socket. It is stamped around the inner circle. Stamping details on all 3 eagles, then base formed into curve. 4 attachment holes (for strings), 2 by socket, 2 at bottom of spreader. Socket has 2 sun designs and 2 floral stamped designs, then formed into tube, false base with captive feather spike soldered into tube. Tube then soldered to curved base. Left underside of base inscription with metal engraver "C by Bruce Caesar 1978" all in script.
