Curatorial Remarks

Jicarilla Apache clothing basket made for commercial purposes. Handles on the sides of the basket have worn or broke off. These basket were widely traded to Hispanics in New Mexico. Materials are willow and sumac. Originally the basket most likely had designs on the walls of the basket.
