Willow basket jar with banded design woven with tree yucca and devil's claw / Unknown
Curatorial Remarks
This basket is actually documented from Fort Sill Apache. This style of basket would have been pitched in pine resin and filled with water to carry back to camp. People that lived long distances from sources of water would use this type of pitched water basket. The idea may have come from the Great Basin and the Paiute tribe.
