Jar shaped basket with wooden lugs / Unknown

Curatorial Remarks

This is a small water canteen basket. The basket is pitched in pine pitch to make it water proof. The red coloring, largely seen on the bottom is from the pitch. This basket is rare and important because it is Chiricahua Apache. The wooden handles are typical of the Western Apache and canteen.
