Wool wedding coat with gold-colored epaulettes / Unknown

Curatorial Remarks

Most wedding coats were greatly modified from it's original state as a military coat. Wedding coats were the most valuable gift from one family to the other; there were very few occasions where this significant type of gift was given. The Osage are the only tribe to wear wedding coats.
