Once worn by Anne Ross Pyburn (Cherokee) who sold the Ross papers to Mr. Gilcrease.

Curatorial Remarks

The beaded bands are likely blanket strips that were attached to the blouse. These strips also outline leggings and are used on men's clothing. The red painting on the hide is common for Southern Plains tribes.
