Woman's finger woven sash with green and blue arrow pattern and beaded fringe / Unknown

Curatorial Remarks

"This sash is woven in the warp-faced style of weaving."

Karen Berry, Cherokee artist, 2019.

This would have been worn by a woman for multiple occasions. It was worn around the waist for decorative purposes. It is finger woven which is typical of Osage and other Prairie tribes. Usually these are made with multiple colors, but this belt only uses two.
