Curatorial Remarks

This sash is made from fingering weight yarn. The tassels are sewn onto the piece and are made from a thicker weight of yarn than the rest of the sash. The sash is woven in the warp-faced style. The beads used on this piece are pony beads.

This would have been worn by a woman for multiple occasions. It was worn around the waist for decorative purposes. It is finger woven which is typical of Osage and other Prairie tribes.
