Essay/Description

Child’s beaded leather moccasins with geometric designs.

Curatorial Remarks

Eastern style child's soft soled leather moccasins. Simple design on the toe. The leather has been brought up to make the cuff. These style of moccasins wear out quicker than other styles. The beadwork on the toe covers up the bunched stitching on toe. Shawnee, Sac and Fox, Cherokee and other Eastern tribes resemble this style of moccasin. Hard sole moccasins are found with Plains tribes.
