Hawk feather loose fan / Unknown

Essay/Description

A small loose fan of 11 hawk feathers with red chicken hackles attached to white buckskin extensions. The feathers are attached to the fixed (not removable) handle and the handle is unbeaded. 12 2-ply twisted white fringes attach to the bottom of the handle.

Curatorial Remarks

Small hawk and chicken feather loose peyote fan. This could have been used for more than a peyote meeting; the fan was most likely used in ceremonial events as well.
