Child's moccasins with purple velvet cuffs and blue, green, and white geometric designs on the toe / Unknown

Essay/Description

Child's soft-sole moccasins with fold down ankle flaps and lacking a tongue. The flaps are edged in orange beads. The seams run down the middle of the top of the foot and are covered in a band of net stitched beadwork in blue, white, and red. The ankle seam is covered similarly in net beadwork.

Curatorial Remarks

"Rectangular beaded point coming down from the top of the shoe indicates that is could possibly be Shawnee."
