Essay/Description
Woman’s beaded leather moccasins with geometric designs.
Curatorial Remarks
Cheyenne or Arapaho women's hard sole moccasins with beaded rear seam and leather ties. 1940-1950. Made of rawhide. The difference between cotton and sinew thread is that the cotton will eventually rot and the beads will fall off. The moccasins could have been made for commercial sale because of the time in which the moccasins were created. The Cheyenne have been making items for commercial sale since the early 20th century.
