A bison hide depicting people riding horses fighting in battle

Curatorial Remarks

This painted hide depicts a war scene between Native Americans and European cavalry. It does not appear to depict a particular battle. However, a note connected to the hide states this is a painting of the "Custer Battle by Cheyenne Chief Yellow Horse who took part in that fight."
