Red ochre in a leather bag.

Ochre is a pigment formed from iron oxide and used in paint all over the world. This mineral is typically found as a yellow color, but through a grinding process and heating the mineral is converted to various other colors, most notably red. Ochre, is used for painting both people and objects.
