Shell pendant with incised geometric design / Southeast, Mississippian

Essay/Description

Zoomorphic / geomorphic pendant made from material that is 6 mm thick. Composed of two squares (one on top of the other) with one-half of an ellipse attached on the bottom. The center square has a geometric design (composed of two diamonds - one inside the other- with a dot in the center of both). Concave/convex in shape with incising on convex side. The concave side is flat while the convex is rounded.
