Woven dance belt made of commerical yarn done in red, black, and turquoise / E. E. Wheeler
Essay/Description
A yarn dance belt with six tasseled cords at its middle point and three on each end. Red, black, and blue-green yarn woven to produce horizontal stripes. The belt is heddle/loom woven. Two panels are joined with six braided tassels at the mid-point (which is won at one hip). The tassels at each end are knotted together at the other hip, closing the belt around the waist. The tassels are braided in a three-ply technique.
