Woven dance belt with fringe made from commercial yarn colored in blue, red, orange, and white / Florence Brown

Essay/Description

A loom woven yarn belt composed of two panels. The panels are joined in the belt's middle through the creation of 3 braided and tasseled cords that are worn on one side of the wearer's waist. On the ends of the belt are similar tassels (2 per end) that are used to tie the belt closed around the waist at the opposite side. The design is comprised of horizontal stripes in four colors: blue-green, white, red, orange.

This belt was constructed using the heddle weave technique.
