On this elaborately embroidered huipil, densely-patterned, bright flowers complement bold, geometric designs. Clothing from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec is well-researched due to the popularity of this style appropriated by famous figures such as Frida Kahlo. Following the Mexican Revolution, Tehuana women became a romantic, national symbol. Today, Tehuana clothing continues to evolve and to kindle local pride, especially during festivals.

En este huipil elaboradamente bordado, un diseño apretado de flores brillantes complementa formas geométricas llamativas. Los atuendos del Istmo de Tehuantepec han sido investigados a fondo debido a la popularidad de este estilo apropiado por figuras famosas como Frida Kahlo. Después de la Revolución Mexicana las mujeres tehuanas llegaron a ser un símbolo romántico, nacional. Hoy, la vestimenta tehuana continúa cambiando y despertando el orgullo local, especialmente en festivales.
