Boy's ribbon shirt with red cloth and ribbon trim / Julia Winningham

Curatorial Remarks

The ribbon shirt is commonly worn by straight dancers. Men pride themselves on wearing a different color shirt at every dance, so new shirts are homemade each time. The pattern of the ribbonwork on the shirt generally varies with each piece.
