January 14, 1 9 2 9. Mrs. D. J. MacGilleway, 1117 First Ave. West, Spokane, Wash. Dear Mrs. MacGilleway: Your letter of January 8 received. I would be happy to have you send me photo- graphs and net price of the oil pictures you spoke of but I’m interested only in getting pictures in oil as my possible clients want oil only. Would the person that you sold that other picture to care to sell it or would you care to let me know who bought it that I may refer to my client to them if they wish to still get that picture? You see, I took the photograph East with me and, unfortunately, sold this man the picture from the photograph provided I could get it and at a reasonable price. I remember “The Stray Horns” illustrations but I have had very little success in selling a black and white and I think $300.00 is a pretty good price to ask for them. Of course, as time goes on, they will become more valuable and will, without doubt, be worth much more than they are now but I could not handle them at the present time. Thank you so much for giving me the informa- tion that I asked for. Sincerely, NCR:ED
