Scope and Content Notes

Small booklet entitled 'Studies of Western Life' by Charles Russell. Photograph of younger Charles Russell on the cover to the left of the title, and a copy of 'Waiting for a Chinook' below title. Book contains black and white images of Russell's work along with typed descriptions. Bound together with green thread. While staying with Ben and Lela Roberts in Cascade, MT, Russell produced twelve black and white paintings that Roberts then copyrights and publishes in August as 'Studies in Western Life.' The text is authored by rancher Granville Stuart and this constitutes Russell's first book.
