January 14, 1929. Mr. I. R Kent, C/o Houghton-Mifflin Co., Park St., Boston, Mass. Dear Mr. Kent: Your letter of January 3d, also the book “A Bronco Pegasus,” by Mr. Lummis, was received. I thank you so much for sending me the book of poems and many of them are familiar to me as Charlie and I spent many happy evenings in his interesting home. It was a privilege to know Mr. Lummis. You may be a little surprised to know that I have really started jotting down things in hopes of building up a biography of Charlie. Of course, it is just a starting and will take months but I am glad to know that you are interested and your jogging me will help me to go on and really get busy.
