May 11/31. Mrs. Charles M. Russell, Pasadena, California. Dear Mrs. Russell: To tell you that your letter – with enclosures – came some time ago and I have delayed writing you until I could go to Great Falls and consult with Mr. Willis. It is my wish that your voice shall be heard in the matter of the Memorial, but I have been relegated to a very obscure place in the pro- ceedings – it would seem. However, as soon as I can make the trip I will go to Great Falls and take up certain matters pertaining to the statue and will write you the result of my efforts when I have done so. I may be able to go within the present week. You must know that all my actions are governed by my bronchial tubes and I just have to get about as they direct. I hope to be able to write you something that will be at least somewhat satisfactory when I have made the journey to the Falls. With all good wishes, Sincerely, [signed] John B. Ritch
