Pasadena, California. May 2, 1932. Mrs. Joe Scheuerle, 163 College Place, South Orange, New Jersey. Dear Scheuerle family: The lovely remembrance I received on Charlie’s birth- day is so much appreciated because of your thought, and you brought into that sketch so many of our real eastern friends. I don’t know whether the different families know that you included their kind good wishes in your drawing but I am going to show the sketch to MacKay when I see him this summer. Thank you so much for the remembrance of Charlie’s birthday. People are beginning to forget it and when I have friends like you people who remember it and realize that I am happy to know you are thinking of him, it makes my hear feel mighty full. Things are going all right with me. Jack is getting so big you would scarcely realize he is the same boy. When I tell you he wears a No. 11AA shoe you can fin- ish the picture. I am glad I have him and glad he is a responsibility which keeps me on my tip toes. I hope you people get West again while I own the place at the Lake and come and visit me there. We would have a wonderful talk of old times. Many thanks for the picture and lots of love to you all. Sincerely,
