You are adding a wonderful work in collecting American paintings to be a permanent collection in your city. If it were possible for Mr. Russell to know that you are desirous of having one of his can- vases added to your collection he would be as pleased as I am over the recognition you have shown him. There is in my possession a very few fine examples of Mr. Russell’s work and I am glad to send you photographs of them with description, size and price. The inference is that you are only interested in an oil so the photographs I am sending are from oils. I have some water colors that are good. The prices range from $1200. up on water colors.
