November 20 1926 Mr. Harry Stanford, Kalispell, Montana. Dear Mr. Stanford: Your letter of November 13th makes me understand a new kind of friendship. I know how you value that pen sketch Charlie drew for you and what it took for you to be wil- ling to give it back to me. I accept the thought and will always cherish it as a real treasure but Char- lie wanted you to have that sketch and so do I. Use it just as you had planned. He gave it to you because he loved you and wanted you to know it. I can’t tell you how I appre- ciate your letter, I shall always think of you and your wife as my friends. Sincerely,
