Dear Mr. Cheeney: Your letter of April 6th received and I am sorry to say that the book that Miss Grinols sent to us have not been received, so will you see that a tracer is started after them? You probably have read that we are drowned out down here. Maybe some of us tourists got a little sick of the moisture but the real Californian is sure smiling. I think Charlie is improving a lot. He joins in kindest regards. Sincerely, P.S. I have a letter from the Washington Historical Quarterly, in Seattle, Washington, asking us to send them the book, “More Rawhides”. They wish to have an editorial mention in an early number, so if you will send a book to Charles W. Smith, business manager and say sent by request, with our compliments. Thank you.
